Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 Launch Date
Season 5 of Fortnite is currently scheduled to begin on the 30th November 2002. The current season will run until this date, as stated by the Battle Pass in-game.
Usually, a Fortnite season lasts for around 10 weeks, although that has been subject to change in previous seasons
According to the Epic website the current Fortnite Battle Pass runs until November 30 with the in-game Battle Pass screen also saying “Chapter 2 – Season 4 through November 30th”, which should make the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 start date Monday, November 30th in the USA.
There are already suggestions that the Chapter 2 – Season 4 may run over-time, however it is unlikely to be a long delay until the next season of Fortnite starts. While Chapter 2 Season 2 ended up running for a whopping 17 weeks, it is unlikely that the next season of Fortnite is delayed that long.
The Fortnite Community appears to agree that the new season of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 launch date will likely be pushed to Tuesday, December 1 or Thursday, December 3 which would put the length of Chapter 2 Season 4 at almost 14 weeks, so it looks like Epic already has plans in place for it to extend beyond the usual 10 week run time.

Chapter 2 Season 5 is now confirmed to commence on 1st December 2020 in a tweet from Epic Games on the @FortniteGame Twitter account and an Upcoming Fortnite Special Event Announcement on the Epic Games website.
The New Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 Launch will take place on Tuesday 1 December at 4PM ET (USA Time).
Update: 21st November 2020
It is now appearing likely that Chapter 2 Season 5 will commence on December 1st with a Countdown Timer now appearing within the game. The original end date for Chapter 2 Season 5 was scheduled to be on November 30th, so it appears that the next Fortnite season is on schedule, without any delay and Fortnite Leaker @Hypex has first revealed the countdown timer was about to appear in Fortnite with the New Fortnite Season Special Event scheduled to take place on December 1st, 9:10PM GMT.
Update: 18th November 2020
Due to a slight delay, it is now believed that Chapter 2 Season 4 will now end on December 3rd. The original end date for the season was scheduled to be on November 30th, so it is only a slight delay and much less than usual. The season will likely end at 4am EST on December 3rd with the downtime beginning immediately after to start Season 5.

There is already lots of speculation about the Battle Pass that is coming in Season 5 of Fortnite Chapter 2.
However, if you are new to Fortnite, its important to understand that each Fortnite Battle Pass follows a specific theme for the season and all of the Fortnite Cosmetics in the Battle Pass are relatively similar to the overall them of the Fortnite Season.
As an example, the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battle Pass is closely linked to the Marvel characters that are a part of the overall Fortnite Season 4 theme and all of the cosmetics are Marvel Characters and Marvel themed, because they go along with the Marvel Universe (which is a little bit different as a collaborative season between Epic Games (Fortnite) and Marvel.
What Will The Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass Theme Be?
For Season 5, due to the time that that the new Fortnite Season is scheduled to start, I think it is fairly obvious that since the new season of Fortnite is launching around the start of December 2020, that the next Fortnite season will have a distinctly Christmas, Winter or Holiday theme to it based around snow and the winter holiday seasonal time in the USA.
While there is no distinct evidence yet, previous season that occurred around this time have included winter, Christmas and holiday elements into the theme.
In 2018, the Fortnite season launch dates followed a similar timeline into the lead up to the holidays when Fortnite Battle Pass Chapter 1 Season 7 was being played and the entire season was literally Christmas themed, based around snow and winter, which came out around a similar time in 2018.
Looking back at all of the Battle Pass Cosmetics from Chapter 1, Season 7, including the Ice King, makes me think that the next season of Fortnite might follow a similar path.
